Do you have the time, the desire and the space (from a small pot on the terrace to a large garden)?
Well, then it’s the right time to start gardening!
You can buy seeds, bulbs and everything else you need to turn your barren garden into a true masterpiece.
But, as with any task, you will need the right tools before you start gardening.
A trip to the stores isn’t very helpful.
Have you seen how many tools there are?
From screwdrivers to harvesters.
What will I really need?
How much should I spend?
What if I miss something?
These are questions that would scare most of us.
Choosing the right gardening tools at the right price is a job for experts.
This is why we’ve attempted to gather and make a list of the basic gardening tools you will need.
You might not use some of these tools very often, but it is advisable to have them, because you won’t have time to run to the tool store while gardening.
Pruning shears
A good pair of pruning shears is vital for any gardener and is used to take care of shrubs and seedlings.
You shouldn’t buy the most expensive pair, unless you are a professional gardener, but not the cheapest, either.
It’s best to choose an average priced pair.
Telescopic shears
You will need these shears to cut branches with a diameter of up to one centimeter and in places you can’t reach with small pruning shears.
Fence scissors
If your house has bushes, then you definitely need a pair of scissors for their care.
These scissors are designed for trimming hedges in horizontal or vertical levels.
Rake
Metal rakes are the best option and will cost a little more than plastic or wooden ones, but they will last longer and make your job easier, as their teeth won’t bend when pulling a heavy mass of leaves.
Shovel
The shovel is one of the main gardening tools.
There are several types of shovels for corresponding tasks.
You will need one shovel for digging and one for loading piles of leaves onto the barrow.
The length of its handle depends on the user.A shovel with a handle about two meters long makes it easier to dig and to load leaves onto the barrow.
A shovel with a short handle is also recommended, as are small tools in general, as they encourage children to become interested and to engage in gardening early on, thus spending quality time with their parents and grandparents.
Pump sprayer
A sprayer is useful for spraying pesticide on trees to protect them against diseases and pests. Please pay particular attention and take the appropriate protective measures when using pesticides.
The sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned after the work is finished.
Garden watering hose
The length of the hose is determined by the size of your garden.
Place the hose in the middle of the larger side of the garden, so that you can water your garden one half at a time.
This will allow you to use a shorter hose.
The hose should be wrapped on a spool to avoid twists that will prevent the proper flow of water later on. It will also protect the hose, as it will prevent your dog from using it as a chew toy.
A more expensive hose is usually better at surviving a hot summer and an extremely cold winter.
Ensure that the hose you use is made of a material suitable for drinking water.
No one will believe you if you claim that you didn’t feel the need to take a sip of water from the watering hose under the scorching summer sun.
Or even… for a quick shower.
Barrow
It can be used for a variety of gardening activities, such as moving foliage piles, seed fertilizers, etc.
Choose a cheap but lightweight barrow for gardening work.
Gloves
Thick rubber gloves, with cotton inner lining or plastic gloves, will definitely be useful.
They will protect you from bumps, scratches and bites and will prevent fungi and pesticides from coming into contact with your hands.
